Granted I am writing this thread with the assumption that your partner has Herpes or HPV also, or is fully aware that you are exposed to the virus.
Herpes is generally classified into two broad categories. They are known as Oral Herpes (Type-1) or HSV 1, and the second type is known as Genital Herpes (Type-2) or HSV 2. In the case of HSV 1 the infection is found around the lips and mouth causing cold sores and/or fever blisters. Oral secretions can transfer the virus from person-to-person by kissing, oral sex, or sharing things like a drinking glass, a toothbrush, or eating utensils most of which are considered as personal belongings and are advised not to be shared with others.
In the case of HSV 2, the infection is mainly concentrated below the waist. You will find sores on or near the genital area. With Genital Herpes, the infection is caused by saliva-to-skin, skin-to-skin, or skin-to-lesion contact with an individual who is exposed to the HSV 2 infection. It is the only STI that can still be spread even while wearing a condom. Even in the absence of sores, the infection still can be spread from person-to-person. People living without the herpes virus should be very careful, especially in social settings where alcohol is involved, as this is a highly contagious virus.
HPV is only caused by sexual contact...so in my opinion I would say that you would definitely have to use a condom while having sex with someone who doesn’t already have it.
